New Collections Sneak Peak: Twist, Mori Girls & Cotton Candy

If you follow us on Instagram you’ve likely seen a few sneaky peaks of some of our upcoming collections. But in case you haven’t (or you just want to see them again because they’re just so tempting) then we’re giving you a sneaky peak of 3 collections hitting our stockist’s stores very very soon.

First up, we have a new co-ordinate collection called Twist, to compliment the other collections and to support your sewing projects. Flurry has been the staple co-ordinate for Dashwood fans since we launched over two years ago, so it seemed about time to bring another pattern into the mix.

Currently available in 6 fresh colours, Twist will be with our stockists in the next month or so, ready for you to add to your (every growing…) stash! View the full collection here.

Jilly P has been busy designing a really cute Dashwood collection called Mori Girls, inspired by a Japanese cultural style of ‘forest girls’. This collection features whimsical Mori girls, cute dogs and florals in a modern Eastern style.

This is a super sneak peak of Cotton Candy, the latest Dashwood Studio collection by Susan Driscoll. It’s not even up on the website or back from the mill with strike offs, but we know just how much you guys LOVE geometric prints, so we couldn’t resist giving you a taste of this collection coming this winter.

Flurry Fabric Feature

Our Flurry collection started life off as just 6 colours to compliment our early collections, but has grown to over 20 colours in the last 2 years! So, we thought we’d bring this pattern to the fore today and show you how you can use Flurry fabric in your sewing projects – as a compliment to other patterns but also as a feature fabric.

But first, let us introduce the full Flurry collection properly:

As you can see, it’s a playful dotty print which compliments a whole range of projects and there’s colours to blend with all our collections.

And, we’ve recently introduced the multi-flurry and reverse flurry colours to mix it up a little:

So how can you use Flurry in your projects? Here’s a round up of some of our favourite makes using Flurry:

chevron1.jpg Tanja from Lila’s Fabric Shop used Flurry to create this fresh and bright quilt. She shared these photos and close ups with us so you can see how the construction of the chevrons in detail. She even used the navy Flurry to bias bind the edge of the quilt.

Another Flurry quilt we want to share with you was recently featured in our Studio Open Day (middle quilt in the pic below!). It was made by Nicolas Ball and again, uses Flurry as the main event, this time with grey and black solids:

Here’s a close up of one of the Flurry Hazel Hedgehog cushions which also featured at our open day. They were made by Sandra Cassidy.

Lulu Ferris made this cute Cuckoo’s Calling clutch with the blush Flurry to compliment:

Elaine Diggins made thisfabric basket using Rain & Shine and our Multi Flurry. She followed one of The SewingChick’s  patterns to make it:  Screen Shot 2015-07-09 at 17.13.37

Finally we have this simple summer dress made by Lidea Coudre which we stumbled across on Instagram. Isn’t it lovely? Screen Shot 2015-07-09 at 17.13.51

So having seen the array of Flurry colours available, and some of the fab Flurry makes we’ve featured, what ideas do you have for using our Flurry fabric in your upcoming projects? Tell us in the comments!
